Ultimately, this means driving as much targeted traffic to your website as possible.

I’ve talked about traffic planning strategies before, but which of these strategies can move the needle and increase your blog’s growth?

Below are some strategies that can grow your audience faster.

1. Start networking with other bloggers on a regular basis

Once you start online, you will find yourself getting traffic, shares and engagement for your blog.

And when you build strong relationships with other bloggers, you can find ways to help each other.

But remember – it has to be profitable.

So how do you find other bloggers in your niche?

  • Engage with other bloggers on social media – this can include sharing others’ posts and responding to comments in the comments.
  • Leave comments on other sites – it is better to do this on private sites where the owner of the post will respond. This is a safe way to get comments as long as you don’t remove the advertiser from your content and focus on making useful comments.
  • Become part of a growing community in your niche– Online communities are a great way to connect with other bloggers. From Sub-Reddits to Facebook Groups and Forums, there are many to choose from.

2. Contribute to top blogs in your niche

If you want to grow your audience, contributing guest posts to top blogs in your niche will be extremely effective.

But to get results that really move the needle, you need to take a specific approach.

Here’s how you should approach guest blogging:

  • Identify blogs in your niche with an engaged audience – If you contribute to a blog with no subscribers and no engagement, you won’t get much results. Social shares and comments are good references to look out for.
  • Connect with the blog owner before submitting – this is essential. We’ve already talked about meeting bloggers; the same steps apply here. Get to know the blogger sooner and your speech will have a better chance of success.
  • Make your proposal about the blogger and how you will help them – Most bloggers receive many proposals from guest bloggers. Read this article to learn how to write the perfect email pitch.
  • Don’t skimp when it comes to writing content – ​​I can understand wanting to save your best content to post on your own blog, but if you really want to reap the rewards of guest blogging, go for it!
  • Build an email list using your guest posts – guest blogging alone will help raise awareness of you and your blog, but you can also build your own email list. It’s as easy as linking to a page with an author biography subscription form. We’ll talk more about building an email list later in this article.
  • Promote your post as you would your own blog – the more effectively you promote your guest post, the better. The blogger you wrote the post for will appreciate it and will likely be open to your input in the future.

  • Keep track of important topics with Google Alerts or Talkwalker Alerts – both are free and can notify you the next time someone is writing about topics you blog about. It can be a great way to spot trends before they happen and better understand what others are writing in your niche.
  • Find trending content with BuzzSumo: What topics are most popular on social media? And what themes work well for the contest? BuzzSumo is a paid tool, but you can still get useful data for free.
  • Use SEMrush to find out what keywords your competitors are ranking for: SEMrush can show you some of the keywords your competitors are ranking for and give you rough traffic estimates. It is a paid tool, but you can still get good data for free.

Whatever topics you cover, keep your audience at the center of your content and focus on solving their problems.

4. Encourage social sharing with these tactics

When you get more social shares, chances are you’ll get more traffic.

I currently use a WordPress plugin called Social Snap for this (it also helps with a tactic I’ll talk about in a moment).

One thing I particularly like about this plugin is that you can add a unique image that will only be used when your content is shared on Pinterest. This is great because larger images work better on Pinterest.

However, there are many other tools and plugins you can use to add share buttons. This article discusses several alternatives.

Limit the number of button to share

In the past, I’ve added social sharing buttons for just about every network imaginable.

Over time, I’ve learned that most social exchange happens on smaller networks (eg Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

So most of the shared keys I have aren’t in use, it doesn’t make sense that they’re there.

But there is a problem…

The more options you give someone, the less likely they are to act.

For example, when you sit down to read a restaurant menu and find it hard to choose because there is so much on the menu.

The truth is:

Limit the number of sharing buttons, but always consider the priority social networks where your audience is most active.

Hide stats if you’re not getting a lot of social shares
Split points are good, but only if you have a lot of shares.

This is due to a concept called social proof: when people see that many others have taken an action, it makes it seem like the real action.

The problem is that there are positive and negative aspects of social networks.

So if you’re not getting a lot of social shares, turn off all share calculations to avoid any social proof.

When your social media shares go up (and they will!), it’s time to count down the dividend.

It’s based on a concept called social proof: when people see how much other people have done for something, it’s true.

The problem is that there are good and bad social relationships.

So if you don’t get a lot of shares, turn off the share numbers to avoid negative personal reports.

ClickToTweet.com – This tool allows you to create a tweet and give it a link, and allows you to embed that link wherever you want. The downside is that you don’t get fancy tweet boxes. However, you can use it on PDFs and other media. You don’t need WordPress for this.
Best Click to Tweet – This WordPress plugin has some useful features. It’s fully customizable if you know CSS, and best of all, it’s easy to add click-to-tweet boxes.

Include shareable images to increase social media engagement

People love to share photos, so this is a great opportunity to take advantage of it.

Of course, many people use browser extensions that make it easy to share things on Pinterest, but not everyone does.

For example, using the Social Snap plugin for WordPress, you can add a “Pin It” button to your blog photos.

5. Make promotion part to your blogging strategy (here’s how).

There are many more reasons to promote a blog post than to publish it on your social media accounts.

When I started writing a blog, I shared it on many social networking sites and that was it.

Then I found other types of advertising and used them from time to time, but I had a hard time being consistent. Most of the other stuff will wear off after a while.

Besides my poor memory, the reason is that I don’t have a written process for publishing each post.

Since creating my first blog post list, I have increased traffic to my content and saved a lot of time figuring out where to post each post.

Now is the time to create your blog post promotion list.

The specific strategies you include in yours may vary; after all, every country is different.

All you need is a spreadsheet to get started.

First, you need basic information for each post (this will speed up the process):

  • Headline
  • Post description
  • Post excerpt
  • Shortened URL
  • Twitter handles and/or emails 

Then you can add few basic promotion tactics:

  • Email to your subscribers
  • Share to your social networks
  • Share to popular social bookmarking sites
  • Share to niche social bookmarking sites
  • Let people whom you’ve mentioned know

Now that you’ve covered all the basics, you need to fill out a list of some of the services you use and the sites you can use to promote your content.

It depends on how much time you want to spend improving your content (better, better) and ranking.

Once you’ve filled out your spreadsheet, you can review your data to see how you’re paying.

You may want to change some habits, but remember that just because a program doesn’t work the first time doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.

This means you need to try a different approach.
